Hi all,
not sure, if this has been asked before. I just found an old thread from 2014 that didn’t contain an answer, so I thought I’d ask again…
I have been using SuiteCRM for a while and, so far, have mainly used it in a more “informal” context. I.e., when sending out email newsletters I simply chose to use “Hi {Peter, Paul, Mary, whatever…}”.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t work for all of my clients, as for some of them I would prefer a more formal salutation: “Dear {Mr, Ms} …”. And here’s my problem: Is there a way for using conditionals in email templates? Like, e.g…
<if $gender="male">Mr<else>Ms<endif>
Or do I really need to set up two different email templates for male and female recipients? If so, the problem is compounded by the fact that I also have a lot of German speaking clients, where there’s also the distiction between “Du” (“you”) and “Sie” (the latter is a more polite form of address).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
