we are actually running on vTiger 5.4 (cause the 6.2 it’s really bad, no global search, broken modules, slowness) and we found suitecrm really beautiful .
We have only the trouble about data exporting process, no trouble about accounts, leads and contacts (i think just export from vtiger and import into suitecrm), but what to for all the other data? I’m talking about support tickets, invoices, attachments… what is the more comfortable way to make a switch from vtiger into suitecrm?
Unfortunately, that is the process SCRM or otherwise. It’s the point behind these platforms – the more information a platform contains, its data becomes infrastructure. The first step is to build SCRM first. If there’s script installer installation you may wish to use it, otherwise build SCRM step-by-step… Second is to seriously consider scalability. Historically, these platforms greatly locked information giving a company an data asset and now these platforms are quite common where information sharing is key. I strongly advise if you choose SCRM, to also setup a MySQL server for its database.
No matter how many records you have, it will be far less expensive and far less technical to EXIM than to setup replication background service. Even still, the tables must match. It means building each view in SCRM to match vTiger. Migrating platforms requires exceptional planning if the company is operational, so it’s best not to disrespect that process. Besides, this scope will provide experience.
