Change Opportunities Date_Closed to Month and Year Only

Does anyone know how to change the format for the date value in the Date_closed field in opportunities to only include the month and year? We do not track close dates down to the day, and this causes some confusion in data entry and tracking.

You would need to add a new field type, as otherwise you would need to re-work how the date field acts and saves in the db.

Thanks for your reply. How would I add the field and only display month and year? I wasn’t able to figure out how to change the appearance.
