Calendar Group Security Issue

Hi I cant get my head around this maybe a bug. You have a team controlled by security group. You goto calendar after setting them group permission from a role. Fine you can see other members calendars but you cant see any meetings.
In permission we have set to group for the role. But noticed meetings on show up on calendar ONLY if set to ALL for the view role setting. This then of course mean anyone outside of the role can see the meeting.
Have i missed something or is this a bug
