Add two letters to the reference number (ID number)

Hi,
I would like to know how I can add 2 letters to the beginning of the reference number (ID number?).
At the moment the number is a 4 digit sequential number which is great: ‘1234’
But I would like it to be: ‘YG1234’
How would I go about doing this?

There is a free autoincrement module which allows you to set many variations and options for numbers on modules. There is also documentation on how to use the module.

Thanks, I’ve tried that and it installs fine but no changes are noticed, the new field type doesn’t show up?
