I’m not sur what the purpose of the “mail” module.
Actually, I’m using thunderbird and my emails are in IMAP.
What is the main advantage of having email inside SuiteCRM ?

Inside the CRM, you can link emails to other records like Contacts, Opportunities, Accounts, etc.
You can use the campaign features for mass emailing (with target lists, bounce lists, tracker URL’s), etc.
Is this really valuable ?
And does that work great with the community edition ?

I really prefer the Gmail experience to using email inside SuiteCRM. But when I need campaigns Gmail is no match for SuiteCRM. And for some people the “linking” to the records is essential to manage their CRM.
There is no “community edition” of SuiteCRM. There is only one, free, open-source, full-featured SuiteCRM.
